how you know what i know

This week we've been reading The Great Gatsby, but we have yet to finish it. So far into the book many of the characters are dishonest, stuck up, unhappy, etc. Nick seems to be the opposite of everyone. He happens to be the one people confine to, to "reveal" their secrets even though they are partially lies. As we get to know more of Gatsby, we find out he is still in love with a woman who he didn't get to say goodbye to before leaving for war. This woman happens to Daisy, the wife of Tom Buchanan. However, Tom and Daisy aren't in love. Tom is out and about using his wealth to play around with another married woman, Myrtle Wilson. Myrtle is married to a man who she thought would give her everything in the world, but she finds out too late that he is a poor mechanic. This shows how badly she wants to be apart of a higher class in society. The status she has now makes her unhappy, but when she is with Tom, her demeanor changes drastically.
