Gatsby Prompts Further Thinking

Money, greed, social status, alcohol, dishonesty are some out of many things that constantly occur in the book. What I consider to be interesting is how unhappy the people with the most money are. Even though certain characters have all the money to buy them what they want, they continue to suffer on the inside. 

- How does money impact a person's decisions? 
- Why does alcohol tie into the plot?
- Why do these people continue to bare the suffering even though deep down they may be aware of what is good for them?
