Journal: April 20

Is my personality the same as I was a kid? Nope. I was honestly more energetic and extroverted back then. I was clueless about judgement and mainly focused on having fun. Embarrassment did not faze me as four year old. However, when kindergarten rolled around I was exposed to different personalities in the world and not just my family's. As someone with an Asian background, classmates were extremely judgemental. I remember not wanting to bring the lunch my mom prepared because they'd call it "weird." (Now, so many want to indulge themselves in Asian cuisine because it began trending). Constant judgement in elementary led me to feel some sort of fear being myself. I'm still in the process of breaking out of that shell so wish me luck! :) Montag's character develops when he meets Clarisse who has a bright demeanor and odd views in life. He begins to question his own life because of her. He realizes how unhappy he is and the lifeless people in his society following the same routines. Books are the source that open up his world and helps him become an open minded person.
