Killing the Curious Cat
Today we read about Colonel Korn's "genius policy" -- the only people permitted to ask questions were those who never did." I imagine the effect this would have is immense silence. Those who actually have something to share, won't be able to say anything. This reminds me of class because of all the voices that are never heard. When a question is asked by the teacher, it's silent. There's only few that speak up. And it's always the same people. I find that questions are more commonly asked in earlier grade levels because the students want to know everything with the question, "why?" But as grade levels increase, more voices grow silent. Questions go unanswered by the students and is then answered by the teacher since-- or they'd be forced out from a student they randomly chose to pick on. The conversations don't lead to much if the crowd isn't willing to ask.
