If the government gave every employer enough money to get through the pandemic without firing anyone-- so that everyone had job security and their regular paycheck life would be different because my parents wouldn't be worrying right now. I found out that my dad is going to be working till August, but every employee will gradually be "laid off" by then. They can choose to re-apply and work there again, but he's going to lose the promotion he got as a supervisor. I really do find it unfair the way my dad's company is handling the situation. As for my mom, she hasn't been working because her job extended the stay at home order. She has been getting weekly checks and it'll last for as long as the company keeps them from going to work. In my mom's case, she still doesn't know if she'll get laid off along with her other coworkers. If they had job security, they wouldn't be as worried.
