Today I overheard my mom talking to relatives in the Philippines about how the government’s support isn’t doing the people justice (with the situation of the pandemic occurring). Many people are starving because of the restrictions put on the people. The Philippine government will punish those not following guidelines which is extremely terrifying. Many citizens in the Philippines are told to stay home although, many continue to go out because they aren’t receiving much support from the government. If they stay home, there’s no steady income. I’ve seen how financially unstable people are in the Philippines (and I know there are plenty of countries suffering with the same issues) and it’s heartbreaking. Finding a job can be difficult and the pay may not even be enough to provide for a entire household, so it is a time of struggle for many.
