first impression of dream

After reading the poem "Dream Within a Dream" I had to go back and reread it in order to have a better understanding since it left me somewhat confused. I had to interpret what was written and grasp what the author meant by his choice of words/phrases. A specific line that caught my attention was, "Grain of the golden sand-- How few! yet how they creep, Through my fingers to the deep," because it reminded me of an hour glass and how one side loses its' grains as time passes until none are left.
