today i asked a question
Today in class we went in depth to understand why asking questions is beneficial to our learning. Although, as we grow up we avoid asking questions. In Gordon Mackenzie's book, Orbiting the Giant Hairball, he describes the grade levels he observed. When first graders were asked a question, all their hands went up flailing excitedly wanting to be the one picked. However, as the grade level increases, less and less hands would go up to the point where no one wanted to raise them at all. Aside from that, a question I formulated is "why do we often lose our train of thought?" The brain is such a complex and intelligent part of our body that allows us to function in many ways. But why is it so easy to lose our train of thought? I find it irritating when I try to remember what I was thinking before it had suddenly disappeared.
