methods of memorization

In class we discussed methods for memorization to help out with a poem we had to recite from memory. The methods I found useful were writing down the poem several times and listening to a recording of me. Writing the poem down repeatedly allows me to process each word. And just like my favorite songs I repeat it in order to memorize instead of constantly having to look at the lyrics.
